Not many schools can say they’ve been teaching students for over 130 years, but if you’re looking to get an associate degree from a school that has been there and done that, then you might want to look at Minnesota School of Business.
Minnesota School of Business (also called Globe University) has been in the education field since 1878. Now, obviously they haven’t been offering online degrees for that long, but you can bet that by now, they know what they’re doing when it comes to the education field.
The school began offering correspondence courses back in the 19th century. Correspondence courses are how people learned long-distance before the Internet came around (can you imagine going to college through snail mail? Well, that’s what they did…)
Through correspondence courses, Minnesota School of Business helped people from all walks of life who couldn’t go to a traditional school (like women, minorities, and the working poor) get an education. And, they’re blazing their way into the 21st century by offering a cutting edge online degree program to anyone who wants it.
By now, they know how to pick good professors, and they know how to design and organize classes to make sure their students get the most out of their learning experience. You’ve definitely got it better than students of 100 years ago!
What really makes Globe University stand out is their reputation. They’re one of the most recognized and respected business schools in the Upper Midwest.
But, Globe University doesn’t just focus on business. They also offer degrees in fields such as health care management, media, nursing, veterinary technology, accounting, information technology, and massage therapy. But, this is by no means a comprehensive list; Minnesota School of Business offers dozens of degree programs, from associate degrees on up to master’s degrees.
And, some are really unique. You can get your associate degree in “Music Business” or “Health Fitness”, to name a few.
Minnesota School of Business uses Blackboard as their distance-learning platform. Blackboard is used by hundreds of schools worldwide because of its ease of use. Even if you’re not entirely comfortable with new technology, you shouldn’t have much trouble adapting to Blackboard.
The school also offers distance-learning students a comprehensive online library, as well as online tutoring and a help desk for tech problems.
Globe University/Minnesota School of Business has enough accreditations and approvals to satisfy even the most discerning student. They’ve been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
They’ve also been approved by the Minnesota State Approving Agency for Veterans’ Education, and their nursing program has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. And, that’s not the complete list. Minnesota School of Business is a member of over 20 different professional organizations (including the Better Business Bureau), and is also partnered with the Microsoft Developers Network.
Yep, it’s a mouthful, but it proves that Globe University is serious about providing their students with a high-quality education. After all, they’ve been in the education business for over 130 years, so they must be doing something right.
"...in the big picture, people with associate degrees make more than people with high school diplomas. "
"Many students enroll in a 2-year college with the intention of transferring to a 4-year college and obtaining a bachelor’s degree."
"...the more degreed-education you have, the less likely you are to be unemployed."
